Stourbridge Crematorium Flower Room

We were commissioned by Dudley Council to manufacture a bespoke oak flower room for Stourbridge Crematorium.

The aim was to create a dedicated flower room—a space where floral tributes could be displayed respectfully in a peaceful and sheltered environment.

Bespoke Oak Flower Room

A Thoughtful and Purposeful Design

The structure sits prominently within the crematorium grounds and needed to complement its peaceful surroundings. We worked closely with the council from the initial concept through to completion, ensuring the building would not only meet functional needs but also serve as a visually gentle and dignified addition to the site.

Crafted with Care and Durability

We paired the oak frame with solid oak glazed casements, giving the flower room a refined, balanced look. The roof was finished in cedar tongue and groove boarding, offering a rich contrast to the oak frame while ensuring long-lasting weather protection.

The structure is set on a low brick wall that ties in with the crematorium’s existing architecture. The glazing allows natural light to flood the space, keeping floral tributes visible and maintaining a bright, open atmosphere within.

A Space for Quiet Reflection

We considered every detail—from the warmth of the oak to the openness of the layout—to support a tranquil and respectful space for remembrance.

Since completion, we’ve received kind feedback from both Dudley Council and visitors. Families have appreciated the calm atmosphere the structure brings, and the space has become an important part of the setting for remembrance and reflection.
