This three storey extension totally transforms our client’s existing property, adding incredible space, character, and value to the home.
Enville Oak met this client at a homebuilding and renovation show at a local National Exhibition Centre and following a productive discussion, our client realised the potential to construct their visions in oak. After meeting with the architect and engineers on the project, and receiving full planning consent, Enville Oak was involved in the manufacture and installation of this bespoke oak extension.
Oak extension features...
The extension features a three storey build and a single storey build, each finished with a pitched roof, full height glazing, and close featheredge cladding. The extension sits on a dwarf brick wall which complements the brickwork of the existing property.
Following our work for the extension, Enville Oak were further commissioned by our client with the construction of an oak porch for the main property entrance and a separate oak garage with a balcony and room above.
Full height glazing
All three storeys of this extension are fit with full height, triple glazed windows for unobstructed views out over the countryside and thermal efficiency to reduce heat loss through the glass. The glazing is further solar controlled, meaning it is designed to reduce trapped heat from the sun without minimising the sunlight available in the room.
Single storey section
The single storey section of our client’s extension was especially designed for a spacious kitchen and utility area. The kitchen features exposed oak rafters which carry the natural oak theme through to the interior.
Chunky beams throughout
Chunky 300mm oak beams have been used throughout this extension, creating a statement piece unlike any other. It was essential to use beams of this proportion so that the oak beams remained a focal point of the overall design.
Large bi-folding doors
The build incorporates large bespoke bi-folding doors for convenient access to the garden space. In line with this, we constructed and installed windows to match for ventilation.
