Oak Balcony with Glazed Balustrade

This stunning balcony addition to our customer’s listed property was proudly handcrafted and installed by Enville Oak.

For this project, it was essential that Enville Oak fulfilled our client’s wishes for a covered oak balcony while adhering to the strict regulations of developing a listed building.

The final result is an impressive multifunctional balcony which provides additional usable floor space across both the ground and first floors, extending the property without straying from its traditional appearance.

Oak Balcony Features...

Authentic developments

Working on a listed building can be a delicate task. However, the nature of oak means that this can be achieved without detracting from the authenticity of the property, making it the perfect choice for this project.

Enville Oak worked alongside our client’s appointed architect to ensure the new addition was compliant with listed property standards.

Covered Terrace

The covered terrace on this balcony seamlessly extends from the roof of the main property with carefully matched roof tiles. With a covered element, this balcony can be enjoyed all year round.

The terrace area was complete with solid oak decking boards, continuing the rustic appearance of the balcony and providing durability for many years to come.

Exposed Oak Rafters and Purlins

The oak rafters and purlins across the balcony remain exposed on this build, drawing attention to the beautiful high structural elements as well as contributing to the traditional feel of the new addition.

Sling Braces

We incorporated sling braces to soften the appearance of the oak frame. The curved sling braces are an elegant detail, shaped by our team to provide an inviting finishing touch to this balcony.

Glazed Balustrade

Finally, a glazed balustrade wraps around the balcony. The glazed balustrade allows for seated views of the landscape, so our clients can enjoy the surroundings at their convenience.

The minimalist appearance of the glazed balustrade, complete with an oak handrail, ensures the oak frame remains the focus of this build.
